I know I am such a slacker on this blog. So many things have happened since I last blogged!! We are expecting a new baby in April!!! Her name is going to be Anna Bradley and my c-section is scheduled for April 5, 2010. We are sooo ready for her to get here! I think Cole is going to be a great big brother. After all the problems I had with my 1st pregnancy, none of those have reoccured this time. We are so thankful for that and appreciate everyone's prayers and concerns! I go back to the dr. on Monday so I will post then and let everyone know how it goes!!

Back to School!

I'm finally posting after a long 6 months! For some reason, I have gotten out of the blogging mood! Cole started to school Tuesday and he is having the best time! He's really loving being in this new environment at Westside Elementary. He is getting so big and grown!! I just wanted to do a little update and i'll post more later!

Aren't we supposed to celebrate Valentine's all week?? I have had my V-day flag and mat out all month and even some of January so I hope I am correct on that! ha! Anyway, not much is going on around our house these days. We have just been enjoying this nice weather and playing outside as much as possible. I have even been letting Cole not take a nap on the weekends because it's so pretty outside! On another note, we took Cole to the pediatrician last Friday for a weight check and she is still not happy with his weight even though he had gained almost two pounds in a month. Soooo....we have to make another trip to Birmingham to a Pediatric Gastro Intestinal Doctor. Hopefully he will have some insight as to why Cole is so small. We laughed with his pediatrician the other day because she said that there must be some genetics linked to his high metabolism. That was a joke!!! Haha! Anyway, please keep us in your thoughts as we pray that he is fine, just small!!! After all, he has had a lot of tests done lately and they've all come back normal. I am posting pics of his new quilt and valance. His room is still a work in progress-or should I say mess in progress. He loves it!!! He has really been doing well sleeping in his bed. We crawl in it and read books every night and then he goes to sleep. I've been falling asleep in his bed for the past few nights and i wake up around midnight and go to our bed. I guess Michael doesn't mind it too much because he never comes and wakes me up. We also tried big boy underwear last week. It didn't work too well considering as soon as I put them on him, he did tee tee in the potty, but squirted it all over them. So i changed him and then he pooped in the next pair. I figured it was best if I put a diaper back on him. If i can just get the timing right!!!! He is very unpredictable. Sometimes he wets at night and sometimes he doesn't. We also went to eat lunch with Mandy and Mason Jones last week! Cole had so much fun "playing" with Mason while they were trying to eat. Well here are a few pics! Have a good rest of the week!!

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted! It seems like I never have enough time to do this. Cole is getting so big and so funny!! We got a twin bed for him and he has been sleeping in it until about 1:00 every night. I finally found him a cute Pottery Barn quilt on ebay and put it on his bed the other night without telling him. He went in his room for something and i heard him go"Ahh!!" I ran in the there and he said "MOMMY!!" and I said "What, baby?" and he said "MY BEEEDD-IT'S SOO PWETTY!!" It was soo cute!!! He really has some kind of personality!!He comes up with something new every day. I also forgot to tell what all he sleeps with...he sleeps with a penguin, a dog(annie-bo), a small puppy from McDonald's, a frog, 3 blankets, and his pillow. Yeah-he's a little obsessive. Another funny thing is that my "Aunt" Deb gave him a book for Christmas that has his name and a couple of his friends' names in it. It's about all kinds of sports. One night I was reading it to him and instead of me reading, he started. We have read it so much that he has it memorized I guess. He is so funny reading it and he really puts a lot of expression into it. I am posting a few pics, none that are really good, but just some new ones. Have a good week! Well, Christmas is over and at our house, we've had to make room for LOTS of new toys. I really wish Santa would have limited himself on the size of these toys!! I'm gonna have to have a talk with him. I am posting some pics of what all he left for Cole. I hate that I couldn't get it on video, but when Cole saw all his toys he started screaming "MY MOTORCYCLE!!!!!!" and "A TRAIN!!!!!" He was really going crazy!! It was soo funny! I think he really understood this year. He also got a little golf cart from Grandma and Granpa. He has really enjoyed it too. Hope you all had as merry of a Christmas as us. And, yes, I did take these pictures with my new camera even though I didn't get as many good ones as I wanted to.

Sorry for the lack of postings these days. It' s been busy around here with family Christmas get togethers and all. Last weekend we went to Needham, AL to Michael's grandmother's house and then left there and went straight to Montgomery to Mom's for our family Christmas on Sunday. Cole is getting VERY excited about Santa coming tonight. All he wants is a motorcycle and he's gonna get it too. He's also getting a train set and some other goodies. I cannot wait to see his face Christmas morning. I don't have any pictures to post, but will guarantee there will be some next week because I'm getting a NEW CAMERA for Christmas!!! Can you tell I'm very excited?? Mine pretty much died last weekend. Cole kind of messed it up. It was time anyway-I've had it for about 4 years. Anyway, hope you all have a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a Happy New Year!!

Christmas on the River

This weekend was Christmas on the River in Demopolis for those who don't already know that...Friday night Michael and I went to the BBQ Cookoff with Mandy and Darrin. We had a great time visiting with everyone and eating good food! Saturday morning we got up and went to Art in the Park very early and looked around. It was soo cold! Cole wanted to ride the pony so I let him. After that, we picked up Michael to go over to the annual day parade party at Mary Lou and Mike Rogers' house. As always they had great food and great hospitality. We really enjoyed watching the parade in front of their house and appreciate them for inviting us every year. After watching Alabama get beat Saturday afternoon, we went home to put our pj's on and watched the fireworks from our front yard. Anyway, I am posting some new pics from this weekend. Hope you all had a wondeful weekend too!

Catching up!

I haven't posted in soo long! It's been a busy last couple of weeks I guess! We all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and ate way too much! We ate dinner with the Trotters on Thursday for lunch and then headed over to Half Acre, AL to my Aunt Angie and Uncle Terry's to visit for a little while. Then, we went to Montgomery to visit with my mom and step-dad. On the way there, we stopped by Michael's Aunt Donna's and Uncle Ronnie's and visited with them plus Mamaw and Aunt Debbie, Cousin Beth and Cousin Tanner. We had a great time visiting with everyone. My mom and I woke up early Friday morning to go do a little Christmas shopping while Cole was watched by Papaw Moody and Daddy. We got some cute things including Cole's new rainjacket and rainboots! He loves them! He splashed and played in the mud and water for a while on Saturday. I am putting some of those pictures up...We stayed through Sunday and of course watched the AL/AU game! Roll Tide! It was great seeing us beat Auburn! it's been awhile! I will hopefully update again soon..until then..here are some new pics!

I know this may sound stupid, but I never thought I would be one of those moms to buy my kid some pajamas or clothing that had cartoon characters on them. Well, things change when you become a mom! Last night, we were at Wal-Mart and he saw these pajamas and had to have them. It was between Thomas the Train and Elmo. I chose the Elmo ones because I thought they were cuter-yes, cute. Of course as soon as we got home I put them on him and they are actually the cutest pajamas on him! I may be kind of biased, but I think anything he wears is cute because it's on him. So, here are a few pictures of the new pj's...it sure is a lot cheaper to shop at Wal-Mart!

Cole has been sick since last week..he had a sinus infection. But, by Saturday he was back to his old self. Gaga and Papa Moody came to spend the night Saturday night and babysat Cole while we went to watch "the" game(there's only one) at Aunt Jessie and Uncle Billy's house. We had a great time as did Cole. I am posting some pictures of his new thing. Since Darrin says that my blog is not interesting-(ha) Cole is doing a new trick! Anyway, anytime you get on to him, he pokes his bottom lip out and drops his head. Well, of course, we have made it a joke now. When you tell him to poke his lip out he does it so I tried to get some pictures of it. It's really funnier in person. Maybe I can get a video of it!

Cole loves to dance! So, as we were watching the CMA Awards last night, I decided to video him with my camera. (Our video camera is dead and we can't find the charger.) It's a little dark, but you can still see him getting down.

Cole's test results came back normal! I have had to go round and round with them to get the results back, but they finally called me today to let me know that everything was fine. They are calling him in some medicine to increase his appetite. Hopefully that will help! I hope it doesn't make him "fat!" I told someone today that the doctor has probably been worried about Cole because she looks at me and Michael and says "Something has to be wrong with that child! His parents are too big for him to be that small!" ha! Not really, but she probably has thought that before. Anyway, hopefully the medicine will work..for right now I'm just thankful for a HEALTHY child.....!!!!

Weekend Update

We had a great weekend filled with watching football games and eating good food! We went over to Mandy and Darrin's Saturday to watch Alabama beat LSU!!! Darrin cooked some wonderful food on the grill including chicken wrapped in bacon, meatballs, and a salmon log. Cole and Halle had a wonderful time playing with each other......maybe Mandy will post some pictures of them on her blog because I didn't have my camera..hint hint Mandy!!!! The only pictures I have from this weekend are a few Christmas card picture shots and a few snapshots of Cole. We attempted the whole Christmas card picture thing Saturday morning, but ended up going to Fleming Photography for a more professional look. Cole goes for his test tomorrow and hopefully we'll get those test results back on Wednesday. Will post more then!

Our first set of bloodwork came back normal. We are waiting on the celiac test and the Cystic Fibrosis test that is being done on Tuesday. I have been making him drink Pediasure all day and also making him eat really fattening foods so that he will gain weight. I'm hoping that it will work for him and not for me because I've been eating all those fattening foods too. We keep telling him to eat so that he can be a football player when he gets bigger. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Yesterday we went to the pediatrician so that Cole could have a weight check. We've been doing this since he came home from the hospital because of him being a preemie. Well, when they weighed him, they noticed that he had lost 8 ounces-from 23 lbs. 11 oz. to 23 lbs. 3 oz. So-Dr. Cunningham sent us over to the hospital for some lab work and we also have to go to Children's Hospital in Birmingham to make sure he doesn't have Cystic Fibrosis. From what the doctor says, weight loss can be a sign of that. Hopefully there is nothing wrong with him, but the doctor is just taking precautionary measures. So, everyone please pray that we will get a healthy diagnosis and that his weight loss is only due to him being so very active and eating so little. On a lighter note, we also went to two eye doctors and got great check ups. No coke bottle lenses for now....ha! Hopefully he didn't inherit my eyesight. I'll post more when I hear back from the doctor.

NICU Reunion

We had a fun-filled weekend of football and a reunion. As all of you know, Cole stayed in the hospital for three months after he was born because he was so premature. He weighed one pound and fifteen ounces when he was born. This year DCH had a reunion for all the NICU graduates. This was our first year to be able to attend because they only have it every two years and the first year Cole was too small to go out in public. This year's theme was a fall festival. We had a great time and it was wonderful to see all the nurses and doctors that took care of Cole during his first three months of life. Above are some pictures from the festivities.

Last night, Cole went to the Fall Festival at Westside Elementary. He had so much fun! Actually, my cousin Sydney took him, but she said he had a lot of fun. She said everyone kept stopping her telling her how cute his costume was. So, even though I don't have a picture from last night, I do have a picture of him in his costume....let me know what you think!I've had mixed emotions from several family members. Ha! I have also posted pictures from Halloween 2007 and 2006.
